Photovoice Exhibition
Exhibitions give community members an opportunity to share their experiences with a wider audience. Through photographs and personal stories, participants can show how greenspaces affect health, connection, and everyday life. They also create a space for others to listen, learn, and see familiar places from a different perspective.
In 2026, photographs from our Greenspaces & Health Photovoice study were displayed at the Lionel Rombach Gallery at the University of Arizona. Tucson participants shared their photographs and findings about the benefits and challenges of greenspaces, along with ideas for making these spaces healthier and more welcoming for everyone.
Bringing Voices Into the Community
Community voices can be shared in many ways! Not only in galleries, but also in the greenspaces where people live, work, and spend time. We have also brought this work into local parks, including Calle Medina Park, where we connected with Tucson Clean and Beautiful workers who help care for and maintain the park.
These community-based conversations allow us to continue listening to people who experience and care for Tucson’s greenspaces. They help make participatory research visible while creating opportunities to learn from the people who know their communities best.
